I just put up a fan in my kitchen and changed all the three way switches to dimmer switches. The problem is that the fan hums loud. The light by itself is fine but the fan hums and the more power the louder the hum... is it because of the dimmer switch or is it the fan?

It's the dimmer switch. Remove it. It could start a fire.
