I just bought a home with a Hampton Bay ceiling fan & light assembly in the kitchen. When I went thru the inspection process, all parts of the fan worked. I closed on the property a few days ago and when I got in, neither fan nor light worked. The remote's LCD display works. All breakers on. Tried all combos of light switches. All to no avail. The previous owner must've packed the instruction manual when he moved -- he left nothing. Is there an instruction manual online somewhere?

Found another post looking for instructions. You said generic ones can be seen on the site, but WHERE on the site?

If a remote fan doesnt work, first check the dip switches to be sure they match re:

It's possible one changed positions. Otherwise it's likely a bad receiver.

I ordered amber bronze, got chrome instead which was really fine by me. I paid the price that's on all the Ventura listings for Value Bros, $139

Only got these blades because they were supposed to come with the amber bronze, not that they really give you a choice anyways. I thought they looked pretty good considering they were paired with the wrong fan. They look almost black if you like black with chrome... As for white, I don't much like white with chrome but I may just set that up for you, Jean.

Might be a bit on the video, my internet connection has been seriously sucky lately and we were gonna switch providers but now my dad isn't getting on it anymore. I've tried loading 3 different times and it aborted every time. Pullchain starts with low like every other stack motor pullchain Casablanca. Date is June 6, 2002.

Good luck with yours! I was debating a black one myself but decided on amber bronze, and of course got chrome. Might try for amber bronze again at a later time.
