HAVE A HUNTER ORIGINAL FROM THE 1970'S THAT IS IN SOME SERIOUS NEED OF A GOOD CLEANING AND POSSIBLY NEW BEARINGS. ANY HINTS ON DISASSEMBLY WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME DAN

Remove the cover from the bottom with two screws.
Disconnect all wires, making note of where they go.
Remove the pullchain and any other parts. Uncrew that
entire tube at the bottom-- it is reverse threaded so
you turn it the opposite way. Once unscrewed, you
have access to the bearings. Clean them WD40 and then
fill the fan with 10wt non detergent motor oil. If
this doesnt free it up, or if the oil is not reaching
the bearings, you will have to take it apart further.
