The light works fine. The fan was working at one point on a very low speed then just stopped working all together. It does have a remote which works on another fan in the house. It has no pull chain. I have checked the dip switches and have set them to the remote. I don't hear any humming noises at all so I don't really know if it is the reciever or just that the motor went bad. Any ideas? I have read tons of these where they all say its the reciever, but they also seem to be hearing atleast something coming from inside the motor. I don't hear anything.

I would assume it is also the receiver based on what you describe.
