Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ Light blinking, fan won't run

My son has a Hampton Bay, St.Regis 138 498 ceiling fan. For a few days the light would be on in the morning. No one turned it on. Now when turning on the light switch the light on the fan blinks on and off. The fan will not run. How can I repair it?

Try changing the dip switches, making sure the fan and remote still match. If that doesnt help, you may need a new receiver.

Is there more than one remote in the home? I have run into a problem with a Casablanca problem when two remotes were in the same home.

You can run into that problem with any make, which is why I first recommended changing the dip switches.
