Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ Reversing fan and light wiring

I recently replaced a ceiling fan in our nursery. The junction box in the ceiling has two pair of black and white wires. One pair was twisted together and capped. The other pair were connected separately to the old ceiling fan, black on black and white on white.

The new ceiling fan has 3 wires, black, white and blue. Instructions say the blue is for the light. I attached the black and white from the ceiling fan to the separated black and white wires which apear to be connected to the wall switch. I connected the blue wire to the twisted and capped set of wires, not previous used.

The result is that the light comes on by pull chain only and the fan comes on by the wall switch. I want to reverse that.

Should I combine the white and black wires from the wall switch and twist them with the blue ceiling fan wire? If so, should I then separate the previously twisted black and white (non-wall switch) wires and connect to the corresponding fan motor wires?

Can anyone help?

To reverse that switch the black and blue wires from the fan.
