Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ Sears 543-1064100 wiring

A friend has Sears 453-1064100 three speed ceiling fan that had a switch failure years ago which left the fan running. She had someone remove the switch to stop the fan, but the "helpful" neighbor didn't take any notes on wiring. Mercifully my friend kept the old switch which still has little stubs of wires inserted with the colored insulation. Oh, and this fan has no lighting.

The fan has seven disconnected wires, white, yellow, gray, red, blue, black and brown.

The old switch is a two layer eight connection "Jin You" with five wires:

L top level has a black wire.
1 top level has a red wire.
1 lower level has a yellow wire.
2 upper level has a brown wire.
3 upper level has a grey wire.
L, 2, and 3 lower level are all empty.

I have been able to buy a replacement switch at Lowes.

Now the questions:
Can anyone set me up with a wiring diagram?
What are the white and blue wires for?

Thanks

Sounds like you have all the info you need. Wire the new switch like the old switch. Order the new switch from http://www.ceilingfanparts.com to make sure it is the same INSIDE as well as OUTSIDE on the old switch. Cap off the blue and white wires, they are for a light.
