New home, new Altura 68" ceiling fan, mounted 26' off the ground, electrician says he cannot get it to work with the remote, only the wall switch. Dip switches match remote and receiver. New 9v battery in remote. Do these units have a certain frequency of D.O.A? (Dead On Arrival)
Hampton Bay offered to send a new matching receiver and remote control after I gave them the UPC 0823----0688 but now I have to pay an electrician to bring in a huge ladder and reinstall a receiver.
Does Hampton Bay's (Home Depot brand name) warranty department do a better job at quality control and testing of replacement units than the factory did originally? I'd hate to pay an electrican to come in and find the repalcement unit doesn't work either.
Thanks.

I would return the fan to the store for a whole new one.
