| After replacing the pull chain switch in my ceiling fan because it only had one speed I continue with the same problem. Someone suggested to replace the capacitor but this fan doesn't look like it has a capacitor but a metal transformer. This fan is about 20 years old and it has stained glass lighting above the blades. My question is- Can I replace the transformer with a capacitor without blowing the motor? | ||||||

theoretically, yes, but how would you know what value of capacitor? What make is the fan? |

| The main problem is not knowing who makes this ceiling fan. I search all over the fan trying to find the maker. The only information I found is model # FC-3052, Number 430547, E377665 0.8 amps. Home depot and Lowes couldn't help with that information. I think the maker is craftmade. I'll try to contact them today. | ||||||
