Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ Downrod/Ceiling Bracket hummm
mrmagic Posted on 7/10/2009 9:28:36 AM
My new fan installation is humming. I found the source of the noise is between the downrod and the ceiling bracket. The downrod end is plastic and goes into the 3/4 circle medal bracket. Ceiling Fans n' More suggests a grommet but I can't find one. (http://www.ceiling-fans-n-more.com/ ceiling-fan-general-troubleshooting-and-FAQ.php#6)

Any more suggestions for absorbing the sound/vibration?
Thanks.

Get some rubber washers and put them between the ceiling bracket and the ceiling. Also put some smaller ones between the blades, blade brackets, and motor.
