Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ New fan/light nothing works
bsonnemann Posted on 5/4/2009 2:31:06 PM
Old fan has two switches in the wall unit. Three wires from ceiling to fan, black, white and red.

New fan, has remote with white and black wires. No red. And no configuration we've tried has worked.

HELP!

forgot to mention, the codes are the same on the remote and the fan.. and the remote is lighting up, so the battery must be working

Try black to black OR red, white to white.

Thanks for the suggestion. We tried that. Hampton Bay is offering to send out another receiver, so I'll see if that works, but I'm almost certain it's that wiring. I may need to get an electrician involved. No one at Home Depot seems able to help.

Try wiring the fan without the receiver, and tell me does it work from the wall switches?
