Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ New home, bad fan
sumhelplz Posted on 3/12/2009 6:38:46 PM
Hello, I just moved into a new home with 2 Hampton Bay remote controlled ceiling fans (and 2 remotes). One of the fans stopped working; the lights will turn off and on/dim etc. but the blades will not turn. I can hear a tiny click (which is normal even when it was working) then I can hear a small hum (which is also normal) but the blades won't spin. Sounds like it's trying to work...but can't.

Upon moving into my home I never received and owener's manual...therefore I do not know the model/model number. However, there are 2 different model numbers on the remotes...I don't know if that'll help...

Does it have pullchains?

No, there aren't any pullchains. I can also move the blades freely.

It needs a new receiver.

Would it be possible for you to send me a schematic pdf?

I dont have one. Contact the manufacturer, order a new receiver, wire it like the old one. It's pretty straightfordward.
