Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ Reversing Old Hunter Original
tomcald Posted on 11/21/2008 4:59:10 PM
I bought an old Hunter cast iron Original at a garage sale 15 years ago and recently installed it. The runs fine but I cannot find a reverse switch on the housing anywhere. There is a pull chain for 3 speeds but no reverse switch like on my other Hunter fans. Does anyone know how this old fan switches direction. It currently is in the updraft mode and I want it to go downdraft.

Thanks

Tom C

Sometimes the reverse switch is on top of the motor.

Sometimes the blades manually reverse. Is the motor spinning clockwise or counterclockwise?

Are you sure it has three speeds?

The motor does not have a switch on the top. The fan is rotating counterclockwise. It does have a pull switch for 3 speeds and off position.

The blade arms, are they shaped like horseshoes, or like smily faces?
