Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ SMC KB-36
Author Messages Date Posted
powerking Well here goes...first time poster here. I have SMC KB-36 ceiling fan that had the pullchain break on my. SO I went and picked up another 3 wire switch and replaced it. No go, only movement it get is when the fan is on low, the fan will move back and forth, back and forth, about an inch each way.....Very odd. I tried switching around the wires inside and no such luck. It worked before the chain broke. Any advice on checking the wiring?

Thanks
Rich

cfanrepair It is more likely that the wiring is correct and the replacement pullchain isnt. Please see our document on pullchain replacement for more information. 3/5/2008
