Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ Harbor Breeze fan just stopped working
Author Messages Date Posted
spschritt I have a Harbor Breeze Aero fan purchased in 2004 that has worked perfectly until recently. The wall switch lights up when pushed and there's power to the fan, having check the wires with a voltage meter. This is a fan only, no light. There were no warning signs or noise before it just quit. Any ideas?

cfanrepair Is it an RF wall switch? Is there a receiver in the fan? If you dont know, open it up at the ceiling and find out. 11/4/2008

spschritt The fan is wired direct, no remote. 11/5/2008

cfanrepair What type of wall switch does it use? What buttons does the wall switch have. 11/5/2008

spschritt The wall switch has buttons for on/off, speeds, reverse, light, and a slide switch for on/off. 11/11/2008

cfanrepair That's an RF wall switch. You will need to replace either the switch or the receiver or both. Contact Harbor Breeze for replacement parts. 11/12/2008

spschritt Thank you. I assume RF means radio frequency? I thought the fan's operation was all controlled by hard wire. There is a black box that's about 2" x 4" x 1/2" located just below the junction box at the ceiling. Is that the receiver? 11/13/2008

cfanrepair If the wall switch has a reverse function then it's RF. The black box is the receiver. 11/17/2008
