Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ Switch 3 spd, 4 wire, Hampton Bay
dunnbob Posted on 10/19/2008 10:54:44 AM
Dropped fan. White/black power wires pulled out, broke switch. Orange still wire connected to 1, purple wire still connected to 2. Yellow loose next to switch; assume it goes to 3, but not sure.

Am assuming white AC power goes to wire nut with other whites, and black AC power goes to switch L.
Can someone confirm or correct my assumptions?

The only switch setup I have with that color scheme is

L - Orange, 1 - Black, 2 - Yellow, 3 - Purple

Which doesnt seem to match. Have you tried contacting Hampton Bay? Also, make sure you get the correct replacement switch.
