I just installed a Minka Aire Napoli with remote. The receiver in the fan gets power. I did NOT hook up the wall switch (no access to the wires from a switch). Following the programming instructions, I tried several codes but no matter what code I try on the remote, it doesn't control the fan.
Any ideas? Mike

1. How did you wire it
2. What type of switch is it, just a regular on off?
3. What was there before the fan and how was it wired?

Fan with pull chain was there before. The box in the ceiling has hot, neutral and ground. There is no wall switch.
The remote receiver has a black & white on one side and a black, white & blue on the other.
I wired hot & neutral to the black & white on the one side. I wired black, white & blue to black, white & blue on the fan.
I tried several times to 'program' the receiver by holding the stop button down for 3 seconds within 60 of turning on the breaker. There are no dip switches on this model receiver.

Try wiring the fan without the receiver and see what happens.
Also, make sure the dip switches in the fan and remote match.

Issue may be solved:
The remote sold to me with the fan is not the correct one. The RC210 remote that I have now is for the black, dip switched receiver. The RC212 remote that I will be swapping for tonight is for the green, non-dip switched receiver.
Check your remote/receiver compatibility at time of purchase. The green receiver is fairly new and the remotes may be harder to come by just now. Mike

That was the problem. The new remote programs the receiver as expected and the fan & light work beautifully.
